How to fill in the size chart template
Find out what the size chart template is and how you can submit it to Zalando.
Why is the size chart information important?
Providing size chart information is essential to go live on the platform. The size chart information you provide is used to prepare specific size grids which will be displayed to customers in the product detail pages (known as PDPs), along with additional information about the article. Customers can refer to these size grids to help them make the right purchase decisions faster. Therefore, correct size charts have a direct impact on:
Driving article sales and providing positive user experience
Reducing size related returns and corresponding costs
If you need to use the size chart template to share size chart information, it’s important to fill in the template correctly. Correct size chart information is essential to onboard articles as a new partner and whenever you plan to onboard more articles after going live on the platform.
How to fill in the size chart template
Below is a list of key points to pay attention to when working on the size chart template. Please refer to the attached template for more specific instructions and examples.
Sizes under each column need to be written in the same format. A good example for this is to use either all numeric sizes (36, 38, 40), or all Alpha sizes (S, M, L) as applicable per article category. This doesn’t need to be consistent across the entire table (columns and rows) but only across the columns for original brand size and regional size conversions. Please refer to the examples on the attached template for more clarity if needed.
Proof of size conversion is a document that reliably confirms the regional size conversions for a brand or partner’s original sizes. Please refer to the attached template for more information and examples.
Without the conversion proof, the size chart cannot be validated, which will stand in the way of going live on the platform.
Here is a list of documents we accept as proof of size conversions, ranked in order of relevancy:
Photo of the size label on the article (most relevant)
Photo of the size label on the article packaging
The link to the size conversion table from the website
For each gender and category combination that follows a certain sizing format,
please copy and paste the template into a new worksheet and name it accordingly. Please find further examples in the template instructions.
FAQs
When and where do I need to submit the size chart template?
If you cannot find the size chart codes for your articles using the Size charts library, you can share the completed Size Chart template with us to provide the sizes for your articles to Zalando. This information will be very important during the initial article onboarding phase, as well as whenever you want to onboard more articles after going live on the platform.
What kind of size conversion proof do I need to add to the size chart template?
It is best to include a photo of the size label on the article itself. Alternatively, you can include a photo of the size label on the article packaging or a link to the size conversion table on your website as a last option. Please refer to the attached template for examples.
What if my articles do not have sizes?
A size chart code is mandatory to be able to complete your master data when you’re onboarding to Zalando. This parameter will also be required during the mapping process of your articles. Please go to our Size charts library and use a One size chart code. Please also ensure that the category in the description matches your catalogue.
What happens after I submit the size chart template?
Our team will review the template and check that it meets the key requirements. We will reach out to you if we need more input or in case something is incorrect.
How does size information impact our onboarding and live business performance?
Article onboarding cannot be completed without correct size information, which will delay going live on the Zalando platform. Once you go live on Zalando, size grids will help provide a positive user experience and drive sales, as well as decrease size related returns. Size chart information is also necessary whenever you want to onboard more articles to the platform.
