Market setup on zDirect
Learn how to provide us with the correct contact, carrier, and VAT information for each market you’re selling in.
Market setup is the onboarding stage where you’ll provide us with details like bank account, billing, VAT information, and carrier information for each market you’re setting up. You'll need to complete each individual section. Once finished, click Save & Continue and a green tick will display to confirm you've successfully submitted your information.
Requirements and specifications
You’ll need to provide some additional information to what you supplied for Account setup. Depending on your situation, you'll complete one or two main sections:
Business details
Compliance details
You can see the key points in this section listed on the left side of the Country profile page.

What if I'm missing information?
If you don’t have all the compliance details, you can complete your business details first. We strongly recommend that you start finding any missing information right away so as not to delay your go-live date. Once you have the missing information, you can add it to your profile.
How to complete your market setup
Step 1: Provide contact details for your market
You'll need to set up contacts for that market. You can add up to three contacts for each category.
Partner program invoices contact: This person handles all regular invoicing.
Customer service: This person will deal with customer requests.
Customer escalation: This person will deal with customer service cases that have been escalated. This must be an individual email address, not a group address
To add more contacts, click the Add another contact button. To remove a contact, click the Delete button.

Step 2: Add fulfilment details (self-fulfilment)
You need to select which return details you’ll use for that market. Your return details are the address(es) where you prefer to receive your return shipments. When an item is returned by the customer, Zalando needs to know where to send it. The address will also be included in customer-generated return labels. You can either Use company default or add that country-specific return details.

Step 3: Add outbound carrier details
Here you need to provide the details of the outbound carrier that you use to ship your orders for a specific country from the list of available options. You should also provide the delivery method you use. You can choose one or more of the following options, depending on your contract:
Home
Packstation
Pick-up point

Step 4: Submit business details for review
Once each section has a green tick, you can send business details for approval by clicking Submit for review. Your information will be assessed and you'll receive an email confirming whether this stage has been approved or not, and advised of any next steps.

Step 5: Complete compliance details (if applicable)
Important
If you don't see this section, it means you only sell in EU countries and have opted to share One Stop Shop (OSS) details with Zalando.
If your company is registered for the OSS tax scheme in the EU, you can provide the single OSS VAT ID and certificate to cover all your EU VAT requirements.
If you are not registered for OSS, you must provide VAT details (valid VAT ID and corresponding VAT certificate) for each country you intend to sell articles in through Zalando.
You can find out how to share OSS details with Zalando here:
Good to know
A VAT certificate is a document that confirms that your business is officially registered for VAT purposes. A VAT certificate must include the name of the legal entity which is selling towards the end customer, address and your VAT ID in the country of VAT registration. In general, you should submit a VAT certificate which is not older than six months.

Step 6: Submit compliance details for review
Once you submit all the necessary information, you'll see a green check mark on the left side of the Country profile page. Click the Send for review button in the Zalando approval section to send your compliance details data for review.
Your information will be assessed and you'll receive an email confirming your status and any next steps.
