Book your warehouse delivery time in Mercareon

This article explains what the Mercareon service is and how to use it to book your carrier's delivery times to Zalando warehouses.

What is Mercareon?

Zalando’s warehouses use Mercareon for time slot booking of palletised deliveries. Having the time slot scheduled is mandatory to deliver to our warehouses. Mercareon provides simple and easy slot booking, allowing your carrier to combine several shipping notice IDs into one delivery slot, giving a clear overview of slot availability and allowing them to book the most suited time to their schedule. 

As it is your carrier who will be using Mercareon to book delivery slots on your behalf, we recommend that you speak with your carrier(s) prior to your first delivery and ensure that they are set up and ready to book delivery slots. You may well find that your carrier, as many are, is already using Mercareon and thus already have a log-in and are well versed in using the system.

How can my carrier book a time slot?

In order to book a slot your carrier will require you to provide them with:

  • Shipping notice ID 

  • Confirmed delivery date

The shipping notice ID and delivery date will be provided to you by ZFS after you submit your Shipping notice request. You may then pass this information along to your carrier so that they book a time slot themselves. 

Please inform your carrier that they need to enter the exact quantity of pallets and boxes into Mercareon as any discrepancy between the values provided in Mercareon and the physical count might lead to a rejection.

Please note that for ZFS bookings in Mercareon, your carrier must book a slot by 23:59 at the latest on the day before the delivery date. However, we recommend that they book as early as possible as the later the booking is made, the less likely it is that your carrier will find availability for the time they wish to deliver. 

Mercareon slots are released each Monday for the following calendar week.

Rebooking

In the event of a missed delivery, or a last minute change of delivery date: your carrier will not be able to change the date of delivery in Mercareon themselves.

For assistance with rebooking, please submit a Rebook notice via zDirect by clicking on the Rebook notice button in the zDirect Shipping notice tool. You can also find this button on the main overview page next to the Shipping notice status, when you hover your mouse over the Shipping notice row.

After receiving the confirmation of your rebooked delivery date, your new delivery date will be activated in Mercareon. Please inform your carrier so a new time slot can be booked by them accordingly.

Same day slot change

In case you need a last minute change in delivery time (within the same day), your carrier will not be able to change the time slot for delivery in Mercareon themselves.

For assistance in such instances please submit a Rebook notice via zDirect by clicking on the Rebook notice button in the zDirect Shipping notice tool and then choosing the option: Request new time slot for today. 

Please note that same day booking requests are subject to our warehouse capacities, and we will assign you the earliest available slot.

Upon confirmation, the new Mercareon booking confirmation with the updated time slot will be sent to your email address. Please forward this booking confirmation to your carrier as soon as you receive it.

Update quantities

For palletised deliveries: Your carrier can update the number of pallets and boxes in Mercareon before and on the same day of the delivery. 

Please note that we no longer require the submission of final box or pallet counts in either zDirect or via ZPU. If the quantities provided in Mercareon and the loaded quantities do not match, we reserve the right to reject such deliveries.

FAQs

Please make sure that your freight forwarder/carrier follows the below mentioned points:

  • Correct labels on pallets/parcels (Shipping Notice ID, sender, recipient, amount of pallets/boxes, content visibly attached)

  • Booking a time slot latest 23.59 the day prior to the delivery date

  • When securing the booking, provide the correct final amount of pallets, boxes and hanging goods. Please note that incorrect quantities are the most frequent reason for rejection.

  • On-time carrier arrival at the correct warehouse with the Mercareon appointment number in hand - and in case of any delay making a rebooking via zDirect.

Please submit a Rebook Notice request as described in the "Same day slot change" section. 

If your carrier is not able to deliver the goods on the confirmed delivery date, please submit a Rebooking Notice, described in the "Rebooking" section of this article.

All requests regarding changing a date or a new time slot for the same day have to be submitted through the zDirect platform as mentioned in the section above. Please note that sending an email / case to our Support Team might just slow down the process, as the support team will also only ask you to submit a Rebooking Notice or same day slot request via zDirect.

If you are trying to reschedule a time slot change that isn't for the same day your carrier should update the slot time by themselves via Mercareon. 

Having a time slot scheduled is mandatory to deliver to our warehouses and the time slot booking is done by the carriers. Therefore, it is essential that you ship your goods using carriers that are set up or will be set up with Mercareon prior to your delivery date.
