Updating your article images

Sometimes product detail page (PDP) images will need to be updated after the article has gone online. In these cases, please use the Image Update template attached in this article to request changes.

Image update options

Accurate and high-quality article images are key to ensuring a positive customer experience and shaping your assortment presentation. For speed and convenience, we encourage you to submit all available images during the initial onboarding of articles.

Sometimes product detail page (PDP) images will need to be updated after the article is live. In this case the following two options are available to you.


Self-service via zDirect

You can update your article images directly in zDirect without needing to contact Partner Care. This self-service feature offers faster processing and greater control over your image updates. Learn more about this option here.

Request via Partner Care

If you prefer, or if your article requires a more manual approach, you can also use the Image Update template attached in this article to request changes through Partner Care. You can request the following changes:

  • Adding new images

  • Exchanging existing images

  • Exchanging existing images and adding new images

  • Removing images

  • Editing the PDP image order

Submitting image update requests

When filling in the Image Update template, make sure to follow these requirements:

  • In case you need to update more than one article, please compile them as one request in the respective request template. 

  • The images should be named after the corresponding Zalando SKU without any special characters like brackets, hyphens, etc. 

Please follow this format when naming your images: SKU_1.jpg. 

Example: P1351G83F-H11_1.jpg 

The number after the underscore represents the image order, for instance, 1 for the first image, 2 for the second image.

  • Bundle all images of the request in one single weblink. 

After filling out the required information, submit your request to Partner Care for processing.

For ePDP content, please use the dedicated ePDP Media Update template to request changes to ePDP images and videos. Please note, that this template is only applicable to certified partners.

For the request types listed below, please submit these directly to Partner Care here:

  • Flag 1

    (shared Zalando Wholesale and Partner) SKUs

  • Article onboarding issues

    (i.e. rejected or blocked status codes such as PSERR, ACSREJ, JETBL, and ZABLO)

  • SKU merge requests (i.e. the same article has two different SKUs)
