General information about GLS
GLS is one of the leading parcel service providers in Germany and has a nationwide delivery network within Germany. With 67 depots and additional transshipment points, GLS achieves reliable delivery times. The redirection to one of the 6500 Parcel Shops in Germany provides an alternative to door-to-door delivery.
So far, over 250 partner stores have been successfully connected, successfully delivering over 200,000 parcels from October 2021 to April 2022.
Connected Retail currently offers the option of connecting Business Parcel. In the further course, it is planned to integrate further services, such as direct delivery to a ParcelShop (ShopDeliveryService), more precise traceability and further delivery options (FlexDeliveryService).
Business Parcel
Business Parcel is the basic product for national parcel shipping: GLS transports parcels weighing up to 40 kilograms throughout Germany.
Combined with a wide range of services, Business Parcel meets the different needs of senders and recipients.
Online shipment tracking
Digital recipient signature available online
Second delivery attempt included, for private recipients in the GLS ParcelShop.
Liability up to max. 750,- € per parcel.
Requirement to connect your stores with GLS
3-5 pickups per week
At least Ø 4 parcels per pickup.
Connection of new stores and new customers
To connect to Zalando Connected Retail you need a contract with the shipping service provider GLS. If you already have a contract with GLS, you will need a contract extension.

FAQs
Is it possible to use an additional shipping service provider?
No, this is currently not possible.
Can customers return goods to both DHL and GLS?
No, you already put the return label for GLS in the package when you send the goods. It is currently not possible to use the label with other service providers.
Can GLS also be linked to individual stores?
No, it’s not possible.
Does GLS also do pick-ups in city centres?
Yes, he does.
