Updated August 15, 2024

Important

This tool will be effective for all partners from August 7, 2024.

Overview

Accurate size information is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction, driving sales, and minimising the risk of size-related returns. To further support you in meeting our sizing requirements, we're launching a new Size chart management tool.

What has changed?

With the new Size chart management tool in zDirect, we aim to streamline the size chart process and enable you to manage your size charts independently. This includes the ability to add and create new size charts. The old method of filling out a size chart template will be replaced. The new process minimises manual effort and ensures accurate sizing information for customers.

Key points about the change:

No Size chart template is required anymore to request a new size chart

No Size chart finder tool is required anymore to find the correct size chart code

New: Input sizing parameters on zDirect: You can now easily input sizing parameters on zDirect and add these size charts to your master data if available in the sizing database. This gives you greater control and flexibility in managing your sizing information.

New: View size charts in master data: In the Size charts library on zDirect, you can view all the size charts in your master data. This centralised view makes it simple to access and manage your sizing information.

New: Comprehensive size charts management page: The size charts management page provides detailed information on the size chart table and helpful texts for size chart editing, new chart creation, and size chart migration. This ensures you have all the resources needed to manage your size charts effectively.

New: Optimised size chart search functionality: Our enhanced size chart search functionality delivers accurate and comprehensive results, making it easier and faster for you to find the specific size charts you need.

How to find the correct size chart

The Size chart management tool supports you to find the correct size chart for your specific article type and your size conversions. In the Add chart function, you can use our database to easily search for matching size charts.

1. Start:

Log in to zDirect. Depending on whether you are a new partner in the onboarding phase or you are an existing partner, you will see different views:

  • New partners (first-time users): You'll see your Onboarding checklist with the Add your size chart option.

  • Existing partners (returning users): Access the Size chart management tool via your Business profile by clicking Manage on the Size charts library on zDirect, highlighted in the image below. You can access your Business profile by logging in to zDirect or by clicking on Home.

2. Article details:

Click the Add chart button in the upper right corner, then enter the required information about your article to receive matching size chart results:

Fields to complete:

Once you have clicked Add chart, the following fields will appear to you. We explain what information you need to input in each field directly below.

a. What type of article do you need a chart for?

  • Product gender (male, female, unisex, kids)

  • Product category (accessories, beauty, home, shoes, sports, clothing)

b. Which type of chart does your article need?

  • Chart type: size, length (e.g. for trousers)

Important

A length chart cannot be added after an article is created. Please check carefully whether your article needs both a size and length chart at this point.

c. Tell us about your article’s sizes

  • Supplier country code (EU, UK, FR, IT, US, or others) - visible on the article hang tag or label

  • Indicate if the article has: one size / two sizes / multiple article sizes

  • For one size articles

    • Only possible size value is one size and will be automatically filled.

  • For two sizes or more:

    • Supplier country code (EU, UK, FR, IT, US, or others)

    • Minimum article size i.e. Where does your size range start?

    • Next size following the minimum article size i.e. the second size in the size chart table

    • Maximum article size i.e. Where does your size range end?

Good to know

Minimum/maximum fields offer pre-configured values as per Zalando sizes, but you can add custom sizes.

d. Indicate the size conversion for EU, UK, FR, IT, or US markets - What are the regional size conversions for the supplier sizes of your article?

  • You can choose I have all or some size conversions

or

  • I do not have any size conversions available. This means that Zalando will search for a size chart based on standard conversions.

While completing the fields, please also refer to the explanations available for each field to better understand the type of data that is required.

Add your size chart to your master data

Based on your submitted data, our database shows you if there was a match with an existing size chart we have already have at Zalando. Please check carefully if the suggested result matches your article needs.

a. Accept the search result: Results will be automatically added to the master data which can be found in the Article Listing.

b. Edit the search result: If the result does not match your article needs you can edit it and add values.

  • Match: Our database rechecks the information, and if the edited chart exists, it is added to your master data.

  • No match: You are provided with an empty table to fill out. Along with this custom table, you will need to include proof of size conversions (options: link, file, image). After clicking on the Add chart button, this will be sent automatically to Partner Care, for existing partners, or the Platform onboarding team, for new partners. They will then add the suitable size chart code to your master data.

You are provided with an empty table to fill out. You should fill out this table exactly as per the sizes in the article hang tags / labels / online size guides. With this custom table, you will need to include proof of size conversions (options: link, file, image). This request will be sent automatically to Partner Care, for existing partners, or the Platform onboarding team, for new partners. They will add a matching size chart to your master data for you.

5. Upload proof:

Irrespective of which option you choose, submitting proofs is always required. These proofs should exactly match the sizes in the size chart as they help us to ensure the quality of your added size chart. The following formats are accepted:

  • Label and hang tag images: .jpeg, .png or .pdf file types

  • Online size guide: a link of the most relevant size chart from your website

  • A size table: A size table with supplier sizes and conversions in either .xls or .csv file type.
